Terms of Service

By using Theotokos AI (the "Service"), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service. Theotokos AI is operated by Élisabeth Boylan Ltd.

1. What Theotokos AI is

Theotokos AI is an AI companion that offers guidance for reflection, drawing on sacred texts and the wisdom of time-tested principles. Each intercession is a single, considered response to a concern you bring. It is meant to be reflected on and applied, not debated back and forth.

2. Beta service

The Service is in beta. Features may change, be added, or be removed, and the Service may occasionally be unavailable or behave unexpectedly. We work to preserve your saved intercessions and maps, but during beta we cannot guarantee that every feature or format will carry forward unchanged.

3. Not professional advice

Theotokos AI is not a substitute for professional help. Its guidance is not medical, legal, financial, or mental-health advice. It does not replace a licensed therapist, doctor, counsellor, or spiritual director. If you are in crisis or may harm yourself or others, contact your local emergency services or a crisis line right away. In Canada, you can call or text 9-8-8.

4. Accounts

You can use parts of the Service without an account. Account creation, sign-in, and subscription management are provided through Clerk. If you create an account, you are responsible for:

• Keeping your sign-in details confidential.
• Activity that happens under your account.
• Providing accurate information and keeping it up to date.

5. Your content

You keep ownership of what you share: your concerns, dreams, images, and lists. You give us permission to store and process that content only as needed to provide the Service to you, as described in our Privacy Policy. You can delete your intercessions at any time. Once deleted, they cannot be recovered.

6. Acceptable use

You agree to use the Service lawfully and not to:

• Use it for any illegal or harmful purpose.
• Submit content that is threatening, abusive, or unlawful.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or disrupt it.
• Use it to harass or harm others.

7. Subscriptions and payments

Some features require a paid subscription, managed through Clerk and processed by Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date. Prices and any refund terms are shown at the time of purchase.

8. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy.

9. Service "as is"

The Service is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. Intercessions are generated by AI and may not always fit your situation. You are responsible for how you act on the guidance provided.

10. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Élisabeth Boylan Ltd. is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be waived.

11. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or end access for conduct that violates these terms or harms other users or the Service. You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable there.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time and will note the new date above. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.
