Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 30, 2026
At Theotokos AI, we treat what you share with us with great care. People often bring us grief, worry, fear, and hope, and we know how personal that is. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. Theotokos AI is currently operated by Élisabeth Boylan Ltd., a British Columbia corporation.
Beta notice
Theotokos AI is currently in beta. Features, including how intercessions and maps are saved and displayed, may change as we improve the service. We will update this policy whenever those changes affect how your information is handled.
1. Information we collect
You can try Theotokos AI without an account. If you sign in or subscribe, we collect more:
- Account, login, and subscription information. Your email address, basic profile details, sign-in credentials, and subscription status are collected and stored by our authentication provider, Clerk. Payment is processed by Stripe through Clerk. We never see or store your full card number.
- Your intercessions. When you bring a concern to Theotokos AI, we save the concern you share and the intercession (response) you receive, along with related content such as your Action List and Acceptance List. This lets you return to your guidance, reflect on it, and follow your journey over time.
- Your maps and reflections. Features like the Constellation of Dreams, Constellation of Concerns, Joy Projects, Holy Triumphs, and your Journey Map are built from what you share with us. If you upload a sketch, image, or handwritten list of your dreams, we store that file so we can show it to you and build your map.
- Usage and device data. Basic technical information, such as browser type, device type, and IP address, used for security and to keep the service running well.
2. The personal nature of what you share
Concerns you bring to Theotokos AI may reveal sensitive information about your emotional wellbeing, relationships, faith, or life circumstances. By choosing to share it, you consent to our processing it to provide the service as described here. You decide what to share, and you can delete it at any time (see Section 6).
To shape each intercession, Theotokos AI assesses the emotional weight of the concern you share. This assessment is automated. It is used only to shape the tone of the response, the suggested time to reflect, and the display of resources. It is not a diagnosis and is never shared with anyone. If a concern suggests you may be at risk, we may show crisis or support resources.
3. How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Generate intercessions and provide the guidance Theotokos AI offers.
- Save your intercessions, maps, and lists so you can return to them.
- Manage your account, sign-in, and subscription.
- Communicate with you about the service, updates, and support.
- Protect the service and prevent misuse.
- Understand and improve how the service works during beta.
We do not use your intercessions to train AI models.
4. How we share information
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with the trusted providers that run the service, each under their own privacy terms:
- Clerk: authentication, account, and subscription management
- Stripe: payment processing
- Vercel: hosting
- Neon: database storage of your saved intercessions and maps
- Anthropic: the AI that generates responses. Your concern is sent to Anthropic to produce an intercession under its commercial terms, which do not permit using your content to train its models.
Some of these providers may store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States. We may also disclose information where required by law, or in connection with a transfer of the business.
5. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit, limited access on a need-to-know basis, and secure hosting. No system is perfectly secure, but we take protection seriously.
6. Deleting your content and data retention
You control your intercessions. You can delete any saved intercession, and its related content, at any time from within the service. When you delete content, it is permanently removed from our database. We do not keep copies of deleted content.
Account data. Your account information stays with Clerk while your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your saved intercessions and maps, and your account data is removed from Clerk. We may keep limited records, such as billing history, where required for legal, tax, or accounting purposes.
Anonymous use. If you use Theotokos AI without an account, your questions are not saved after your session ends.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, to withdraw your consent, and to object to certain uses. To exercise any of these rights, contact our privacy officer (Section 10).
8. Children
Theotokos AI is not intended for anyone under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time, especially during beta. We'll post the new version here and update the date above. Significant changes will be communicated through the service or by email.
